35 Years and Counting

matteosI started using Produce Express over 35 years ago when I was working with Chef Teresa Urkofsky at Pava's on K Street.  Back then more often than not Jim "AKA Pops" would deliver in his truck and no matter how busy either of us were would always take the time to tell a good joke or story from back in the day.  I continued to use them exclusively in my 12 year stint at David Berkley's (1990 to 2002), then 10 Years (2002 to 2012) at my wife Yvette and my first restaurant The Supper Club.  2009 till present at Matteo's.  2012 to 2020 at The Crocker Art Museum Cafe.  2017 to 2020 at our downtown cafe Backbone.

Produce Express led the Farm to Fork Movement before there was even a phrase for it. … Many companies have approached me to make a change, but never considered it.  From top to bottom, owner Jim, all the key staff, office staff, delivery drivers and warehouse workers are great to work with. Jim is always generous when we approach him for help with big fundraisers and big caterings.   We are looking forward to many more years of partnership.”
